I know I’m posting this AFTER mercury went retrograde (began 12:46AM MDT, 9°35 Aries earlier this morning), but I recorded this the night of the 13th when mercury was still 💯 direct.

I don’t consider myself an astrologer. I’m a psychic, mystic, soul coach, oracle deck creator, and someone who ultimately hopes to assist others on this crazy journey we call life. But I know just enough astrology to be dangerous. So when I see Facebook friend go on a tangent how mercury went retrograde two weeks earlier than it actually does, ranting and raving about the nonexistent “shadow” period, blaming their entire life on mercury and sharing this misinformation along to others I can sympathize with astrologers in their frustrations over the ignorance. Would I expect them to understand everything about astrology? Of course not. But I would hope they’d be open minded enough to listen to someone who has done some study and has some knowledge on the topic to trust them when they say other planetary transits could be a factor and that there is no such thing as a shadow period. But no, they railed against hearing any of that and were determined to hold onto their ignorance. 🤦‍♀️ Just had to rant for a moment. Real astrologers who get it, I see you, I hear you, and I feel you.

Wouldn’t we all look pretty silly and feel crazy uncomfortable if we all wore the same clothes we wore when we were ten years old? Of course we would! Why? Because we outgrew them. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t have the opportunity to wear the things we have in our closets today as adults. We don’t lose what we outgrow. It’s a funny thing you know. Most social media strategy reminds you to be your most authentic self because that’s what people crave the most, which I do agree with. But then it turns into hooks to grab the viewer’s attention, or how to record your video in the most impactful way, or making thumbnails to appeal to the consumer. That’s all fine and good, but do you know what’s missing from that? That very authenticity first mentioned. Now if who you are and what you do fits that without having to change yourself, great! But for most of us, it doesn’t work that way.

I find the more I try to squeeze myself into certain criteria, the less I’m me. I’ve come to peace that if I have to do those things to gain views, followers, or eventual clients and people to be involved in my community - they’re probably not my people. I’ve decided I’m going to be me regardless. Will it be for everyone? Nope. But it will be for somebody? Absolutely. And I’m looking forward to meeting whoever those people are. 🥰

Now of course, this isn’t just applicable in social media or business. It works in all areas of life, our personal lives, romance, etc. How can you be more authentically you?

Just my personal opinion, but nature pictures in general look better in landscape. What sets this particular deck apart from holiday decks is it explores the entire winter season after New Years up until Spring. And you know what? Even if it’s not winter anymore, if you’re in the mood to feel the magic of silver snowflakes, this is still a great deck to use. In fact, come those hot summer months, it might even help you cool off a bit. 😉

It’s about 20° cooler up in the mountains, but between the warm sunshine and the bright white snow reflecting that sunshine, it makes things pretty toasty actually! Yesterday Shadow, Tinkerbell, and I went for a walk in a winter wonderland up at Boreas Pass. ❄️☃️❄️ Our first time back for one of hikes up there since before the holidays. It was so good to be back, take in the views, breathe in the fresh air, and simply connect with nature. Even if it’s still winter where you are, get outside and take a moment to enjoy the season for what it is. Before you know it, it will all melt away. ☀️🌲🏔️

Have you been working your ass off? Rise and grind to working until the wee hours of the morning. Are you giving and kind to everyone who comes across your path? The barista at Starbucks and the misunderstood hater that trolls you online.
